Filed under: Ski Hire in La Plagne, Ski Hire in Les Arcs — admin @ 3:19 pm

Winter sports enthusiasts who are not keen on taking on the black runs will find that there are some excellent intermediate runs in Les Arcs and La Plagne, one source has stated.

Stephen Wood, writing for the Independent, said that beginners and experts will also be well catered for in these resorts, but the fact that they are part of the largest ski area in the world, Paradiski, means that there are endless runs for intermediates to take on.

"It has probably the best intermediate skiing in the French Alps, plenty of expert terrain on and off-piste, and good runs for entry-level skiers," he said.

Mr Wood added that the cost of going to these areas will not hit ski hire users in the pocket, as the price compare "very favourably" with other resorts.

Meanwhile, Genevieve Fox, writing for the Daily Telegraph, recently said that La Plagne is an "ideal destination" for ski hire users, due to the mixture of great runs and hustle and bustle of the town centre.ADNFCR-2515-ID-19586528-ADNFCR

Filed under: Ski Hire in Les Arcs, Ski Hire in Val d'isere — admin @ 3:19 pm

Val d’Isere is one of the best resorts in the world for advanced ski hire users, one source has said.

An article on the Tourist Link website said that the sheer size of the resort is the main reason why ski hire users like to travel to there, as the variety of slopes means that there are plenty to keep experts entertained.

"Val d’Isere is one of the world’s best resorts for experts – attracted by the extent of lift-served off-slope – and for confident, mileage-hungry intermediates," it said.

However, the source added that people do not have to be "particularly adventurous" to enjoy the resort, as the ambience in the villages enables ski hire users to have a relaxed break as well as an exhilarating time on the pistes.

Meanwhile, ski hire in Val d’Isere users can now make use of the tunnel which connects Solaise and Le Fornet, after it was opened for the first time in years to allow them to access the more difficult slopes.ADNFCR-2515-ID-19586526-ADNFCR

Filed under: Ski Hire in Les Arcs — admin @ 8:00 pm

A new online clinic will provide winter sports enthusiasts with information about which equipment they should hire when heading to the slopes.

The Times is hosting the event today, when ski hire users will be able to log on and get the opinion of industry experts about issues such as which items of equipment to take away and which clothing is most suitable.

Experts offering their advice will include Rick Hutchings, training co-ordinator for Snow and Rock, and Mark Frary, ski editor for Times Online.

Warren Smith, who runs a ski academy, recently gave the Daily Telegraph some other tips when advising ski hire in Les Arcs users to lean forwards to keep their balance. ADNFCR-2515-ID-19583633-ADNFCR

Heavy UK snowfall ‘boosts interest from ski hire users’

Filed under: Ski Hire in Val d'isere — admin @ 2:05 pm

The heavy snowfall which the UK has experienced over the last few weeks has led to a huge rise in the number of potential ski hire users enquiring about holidays to the slopes, it has been claimed.

A new report issued by Experian Hitwise has shown that websites selling skiing holidays received 18.5 per cent more traffic in the first week of 2010 compared to the same period last year.

Robin Goad, research director for the organisation, said that many people are unhappy about the snowfall disrupting their plans in the UK but it has had the benefit of reminding them how great winter sports can be.

"Most of the people planning a snow skiing or snowboarding holiday are considering the more traditional resorts in the Alps," he explained.

Meanwhile, a new report from the Post Office has shown that four out of five ski hire users who did not travel to the mountains in 2009 have decided to book a holiday this year.ADNFCR-2515-ID-19581015-ADNFCR

The recent weather conditions in La Plagne have made the slopes perfect for ski hire users, one expert has said.

According to one rep from the Ski Club of Great Britain, the snowfall in La Plagne has been excellent and made even better by the fact that the sun has been shining once the white stuff has fallen.

"Excellent day, probably the best so far this season. Good light powder snow everywhere," the expert said.

Another rep in Meribel said that the thick covering of snow and "wonderful blue skies", along with the warmer temperatures, have meant that the resort is a fantastic place for ski hire users to visit in the coming weeks.

Ski hire and travel cover ‘can cut costs’

Filed under: Ski Hire in Les Arcs — admin @ 2:05 pm

People can not only cut costs by using ski hire instead of buying equipment, but also by shopping around for travel cover, one expert has said.

Nick Caunter, managing director of Airport Parking and Hotels, said that ski hire users who take time to look around for the cheapest deal with the same amount of cover can cut costs.

Just as people using ski hire fork out less for all their equipment, Mr Caunter said that shopping around for travel cover can save hundreds of pounds between a family.

"Winter sports insurance is a vital purchase for snowboarders and skiers, but it is important to compare levels of cover and the premium to get the best value for money," he said.

John Fitzsimons, writing for LoveMoney.com, recently said that travel insurance can provide peace of mind for those using ski hire in Les Arcs and the other top European resorts, as a comprehensive policy covers them for any eventuality.ADNFCR-2515-ID-19581020-ADNFCR

Ski hire users ‘returning to the slopes’

Filed under: Ski Hire in La Plagne — admin @ 1:31 pm

An increasing number of ski hire users are heading back to the slopes this year as the effects of the economic downturn begin to weaken, one source has revealed.

The Post Office has issued a report revealing that 80 per cent of ski hire in La Plagne users who did not travel to the resort in 2009 expect to do so in the coming months.

According to the source, the key thing to remember is travel insurance, as this can provide ski hire in La Plagne users with peace of mind.

"If more than one trip to the slopes is planned, then annual multi-trip travel insurance, with the additional winter sports cover, may be a cheaper option than multiple separate single-trip travel insurance policies," it recommended.

Meanwhile, John Fitzsimons, writing for LoveMoney.com, recently advised ski hire in La Plagne users to make sure they take a European Health Insurance Card to the slopes with them to provide added peace of mind.ADNFCR-2515-ID-19577656-ADNFCR
